Young boy missing overnight in Comberton

Have you seen this youngster in the village ?

He went missing overnight on Thursday 19th October and his mother thinks he’s somewhere around the village. A police helicopter flew over the village early on Friday morning.

He has learning difficulties and has been out all night. She was asking if anyone sees him to please call the police as she has reported him missing. He’s a young black teenager and when last seen he was wearing a grey anorak/jacket.

He was eventually found and taken to hospital to be checked out.

South Street closed due to burst water main near A603, affecting water pressure

South Street had southbound access blocked at the crossroads with bollards – altough  the burst is some 160m up from the junction with the A603.

People coming to Comberton northwards were diverted via A603 to Barton and then west to Comberton. This diversion was removed on 20th October morning.

Access via Swaynes Lane did get you to the Church / The Three Horseshoes / Butchers Shop ..  but you could have squeezed past the cones from the crossroads if traffic permited. (” Businesses are not affected“)

However another burst water main was in the footway on Barton Road meaning that there are two way traffic lights between Hines Lane and Harbour Avenue… …These are traffic sensing lights so delays will be kept to a minimum. Traffic lights still in operation 4pm Friday 20th october

Water had been turned off to Hines Lane, Wooten’s Close and part of Barton Road but it has been reconnected according to some residents.

Other residents may find that their main cold water tap (not those fed from a loft tank) splutters due to air in the mains. This would decrease once the water mains are repaired.
