The Fire Service –  four appliances – attended a serious fire in a ‘disused’ barn and stables complex adjacent to Gage Farm just south of Branch Road before it turms into Green End.

Crews from Cambridge, Papworth, St Neots, and Sawston, along with a water carrier from Newmarket, attended the fire.

They were unoccupied so hopefully no human or animal casualties are expected.

Subsequently Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue have confirmed the cause of the fire was deliberate. Alongside the skeleton of the barn, two burnt out cars can be seen indicating the severe size of the blaze
